TIGERS have signed Danish star Klaus Jakobsen on a full transfer from Stoke.
Jakobsen missed last season as he decided to stay in his home country after the Potters dropped down to National League level.
Now he is ready to resurrect his career with the Owlerton side and will start the season at reserve where he is expected to go alongside another new signing.
Sheffield co-promoter Neil Machin said: “I’ve been interested in signing Klaus for a year or so and when the opportunity arose I took it.
“He comes to us on a full transfer and we’re delighted. He’s a young rider and has bags of potential.
“He wants to get back into British Speedway and is looking forward to the chance here at Owlerton. This is his big chance to make his mark in the sport.
“He needs to be racing at Premier League level to enhance his career and get himself back on track and he’s been knocking on our door for a while. This is just the start of our team building and we are working on all other areas of the team, we are hoping to have something in place in the next couple of days.
“We already have agreements in place with some riders but we need to ensure the jigsaw comes together before making any further announcements.”
