SHANE Parker faces his former club Glasgow in a mouthwatering Premier League clash at Owlerton tomorrow.
Parker is regarded as one of the Scottish club’s legends after a successful spell north of the border.
Club bosses insist he is determined to put one over his old side who arrive in Sheffield on the back of three matches unbeaten.
They beat Newcastle in Monday’s televised Premier League meeting at Brough Park and won both their home meetings so far.
Sheffield owner David Hoggart said: “This is going to be a tough meeting and Shane is well fired up to do well against his old club. He’s still very popular up at Glasgow and it’s easy to see why when you look at the job he’s done for us so far. He’s been excellent.
“It’s sporting nature that you always want to do well against your old club and Shane still has a lot of friends at Glasgow so he will be wanting to help us to a win against them.”
Machin says Tigers are facing a tough schedule with Friday’s trip to Plymouth followed by a Bank Holiday Monday visit to Newcastle.
He said: “It’s tough for both man and machine but the boys are up for it and there are plenty of Premier League points on the line.”
“It’s a busy spell for us but this is an opportunity for the team to rocket up the Premier League and we’ll be doing all we can to ensure that happens.”
