Parker bid to double up in final season

Have your say

SHANE Parker has sent out a ‘come and get me’ plea to Elite League bosses in a bid to double-up with Sheffield.

Parker, 40, admits 2011 will be his last season in British racing before he relocates back to home country Australia with his family.

And he insists his days of Polish and Swedish League racing look over as he wants as many British bookings as pos

ADVERTISEMENTsible to supplement his Sheffield fixtures.

He said: “I’m done with all the travelling and I just want to concentrate on British racing for this last season.

“And now there is an opportunity for riders to double-up I would like to take advantage of that. I did it a few years ago with King’s Lynn and I must admit I would have welcomed the opportunity to ride for them in the Elite League now they have gone up.

“But nothing came of that and I just want people to know I’m available and keen to do some meetings even though Sheffield fixtures will obviously take priority.

“I’m delighted to be at Sheffield and the response I’ve had since my signing was announced has been great,

“It seems we have a competitive side and we have several guys who can challenge for the number one position within the team.

“It would be lovely for me to win something with Sheffield in the final season in Britain for me and all I need now to put the icing on the cake is some Elite League bookings.
