Owlerton chosen for restored semis
TIGERS owner Neil Machin has won his campaign to see the British semi-finals restored - and the first one is at Owlerton.
Machin has confirmed 32 riders will do battle for 16 places and the Sheffield event will take place on May 6. The other semi-final is at King's Lynn on May 12.
There will be no seedings direct to the British Final at Wolves in June which means the Owlerton meeting could include Grand Prix stars Chris Harris and Tai Woffinden.
And Machin admits he has a burning desire to see Owlerton host the final in years to come.
He said: "I'm delighted we have reverted to the qualifying semi-finals because for too long the British Final hasn't had the profile it deserves. This will go a long way towards addressing that."
