TOP Elite League star Scott Nicholls is desperate to reach the British Final and go all the way to the national title.
Nicholls, one of the most spectacular riders in the country, takes his place at Owlerton Stadium in tomorrow’s British Semi-Final.
The top seven from the meeting are guaranteed a slot at Wolverhampton for the final on Monday, June 6.
And there will also be two wildcards for the meeting. Wolverhampton’s own star Tai Woffinded is expected to get one as he is ruled out of the semi-finals with a shoulder injury.
Nicholls insists the national crown is more important than qualifying for the British Grand Prix at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff next month.
He said: “It’s not about getting to Cardiff for me, it’s about becoming British Champion.
“The national title means so much and everyone wants to be champion of their nation.
“It’s not just the British Final, you can ask the Danes, the Poles and the Swedes, they all place a high priority on their national championship.”
Tigers stars Ricky Ashworth, Josh Auty and Paul Cooper are all included in the meeting.
The second semi-final is at Scunthorpe on Friday.
