TIGERS return to Premier League racing for the first time in three weeks when they head to Newport tonight (7pm).
And the South Wales side have been busy in the transfer market of late with Australian duo Jason Doyle and Justin Sedgmen joining the club as double-up riders.
It appears to make them stronger and Tigers are hoping Argentinian ace Emiliano Sanchez will make it after aggravating a rib injury last weekend.
Boss Eric Boocock said: “Newport is always a tough place to go but we’ll give it our best. It’s important to keep picking up points throughout the season and that has to be our aim at Newport. We have to target a point and see if we can pick up anything more.”
Tigers have only failed to take points from two of their five away meetings so far and will be confident of building on that record.
Australian ace Shane Parker said: “Things are going well with the team and we all get the feeling we will only get better as the season progresses. I’m really enjoying my time with Sheffield and hopefully we can win a trophy this season.
“Newport will be tough because they’ve got some good riders in their team, Doylie has been going great so we’ll need to be watching him closely.”
Newport are to hand home debuts to Doyle and Sedgmen and they also include former Tigers favourite Kyle Legault. The sides have already met at Owlerton this season when Sheffield ran out winners 56-35.
