OWNER Neil Machin predicts another gruelling examination of his Tigers side when Ipswich, who dropped down from the Elite League in the winter, visit Owlerton tonight.
It’s the first of back-to-back meetings as they meet again at Foxhall Stadium tomorrow. Said Machin: “Ipswich are a massive name and it’s great to have them in the Premier League, they’re attractive opposition. John and Chris Louis, the long-standing promotional duo there, have been very clever in the way they have put the team together. They have riders who are more than capable of increasing their average and that’s the key to a successful team.
“Riders like Kevin Doolan, Taylor Poole and Lasse Bjerre will do well around our track and in Chris Mills at reserve they have a rider who knows our track from his time with us. It’s another tough fixture for us after losing at home to Somerset. I’m still not happy about a couple of things which went on in that meeting, no evidence of any injury to Kyle Hughes yet they got a facility for him and scored points in his absence. But we move on and this could be a great night of racing again. The boys are desperate to bounce back.”
