Leight targets quick return

Leigh Lanham is hoping to be back in action for Sheffield sooner rather than later.

Lanham, in his first season with Tigers, has been out for a month after crashing at Glasgow. “I didn’t realise the damage I’d done, because although I hadn’t broken any bones I damaged a lot of soft tissue and muscles” he said.

“I’d been hoping to ride last week, but the physio said it was still too soon.

“I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he might give me the all clear to ride this week; I’m desperate to get back on the bike again. It’s difficult but I’ve got to be patient.”

Lanham hopes to face former club Ipswich at Owlerton on Thursday. A final decision is expected tomorrow.
