Last chance saloon for play off slot

RICKY Ashworth insists nothing less than maximum points will do for Sheffield in tonight's Premier League clash with Redcar at Owlerton (7.45).

And he says they are entering last chance saloon when it comes to reaching the top four play-offs as they prepare for a busy Bank Holiday weekend which sees them go to Newport on Sunday and Scunthorpe on Monday.

Tigers are expected to be back to their usual line-up in the main body of the team with Richard Hall and Hugh Skidmore set to return after missing the weekend defeat at Newcastle.

And Ashworth himself will ride through the pain barrier after suffering a groin injury on Tyneside.

He said: "It's an important part of the season for us because we're heading towards September and if we want to finish in the top four we have to get points from all these meetings.

"We have to beat Redcar by more than six points to claim all three league points on offer tonight and hopefully we can take that forward to Newport on Sunday.

"If we don't take all three points from the Redcar meeting then I think we will struggle to make the top four, that's how important it is to us."

Redcar have recently added new British Under-21 champion Joe Haines to their side and 1992 world champion Gary Havelock continues to lead their challenge.

TIGERS: Auty, Skidmore, Franc, Hall, Ashworth, Wells, Lambert.

REDCAR Havelock, Sanchez, Grieves, Wright, Haines, Larsen, Suchanek.
