Joe ‘can bounce back’

NEIL Machin is backing Joe Haines to rediscover the form which took him to the British Under-21 title.

Haines, who looked to have quit the sport at the end of last season through injury, signed for Sheffield as soon as he was presented with the opportunity.

And Machin, the Tigers owner, says it’s a move which can pay off for both the rider and the club. He said: “We know that he’s still capable of getting back to being a very good rider. You don’t win the British Under-21 title by luck.

“It was a tough time for him but Joe is buzzing and sees this as his big chance to get his career back on track.”
