RICHARD Hall gets another outing in Tigers colours for tomorrow’s top of the table clash with Workington at Owlerton.
Hall, an Owlerton track specialist, once again deputises for the injured Josh Auty as a guest replacement.
Auty is hoping to return from his ankle injury within the next three weeks and Tigers have been using the rider replacement facility to cover for him at home.
But they don’t want to give his colleagues any added pressure tomorrow against a Comets side who have stunned the rest of the Premier League with some fine performances.
Tigers club owner Neil Machin said: “We are delighted to once again employ Richard who is still technically one of us although he is currently a Leicester rider.
“He knows every inch of the Sheffield track and we don’t want to take any risks against a team like Workington. It’s important for us to have a full team and in Richard, Ricky Ashworth and Shane Parker we have a solid heat-leader trio.
“Richard has done a fine job for us before and I’m sure he will do the same against Workington, he will always give his best and won’t let us down.”
Machin has also revealed how club bosses agonised during the winter before making the decision to allow Hall to leave on loan.
He said: “You only have so many points to play with when putting your team together and someone had to go. It’s not the first time this has happened with Richard and it’s not a nice thing to have to do. I’ve been following his progress with Leicester very closely this season because he is a rider I still rate very highly. Workington have surprised a few this season but when you look at their side they are quality throughout. It’s a good test for us.”
Tigers legend Shawn Moran is making a personal appearance at the Panorama Room at Owlerton tonight for a question and answer session, starting 7.30pm. It is the first time the Californian has visited Sheffield since quitting the sport in 1994.
