SIMON Stead is as interested as any Sheffield fan to find out what night the Tigers will race next season.
Stead is tipped to lead Sheffield in 2013 providing the Owlerton men move away from their traditional Thursday night slot, as he hopes to be riding in the Elite League for Swindon on that evening.
As Tigers fans eagerly anticipate the decision over the coming weeks, Great Britain international Stead admits he is in exactly the same boat as they are.
He said: “Obviously Neil (Machin) and David (Hoggart) don’t even know themselves yet what night it’ll be but I’m just like every other Sheffield fan, I am waiting to see what the decision is. If Sheffield move away from Thursday’s and we can strike a deal then I would love to be at Owlerton next year.
“It’s a strange time for a s rider because some clubs try and get riders pinned down early and some wait until after the AGM.”
