ASHLEY Birks says Sheffield are frustrated about not having a home meeting tonight.
The Tigers reserve, who is doubling-up with the club’s National League outfit, says the team are on a roll and want meetings as regularly as possible.
But he’s also revealed how the riders are spending today on a team bonding exercise with the possibility of Go Karting on the agenda.
Said Birks: “It’s a shame we don’t have a meeting tonight because we’re all enjoying things right now and we seem to be in a bit of form.
“The win at Plymouth was tremendous for us and it was probably a good time for us to go there on their opening night.
“It’s a tough place to go so it was great for us to win there. Like I said, it would have been nice to have had a home meeting tonight to keep things going but the lads are getting together anyway which will be good fun.”
Birks has revealed how he is riding through the pain barrier to keep his place in the Tigers side.
“I’ve got some discomfort in the leg and I came off at Wolverhampton on Tuesday which didn’t help,” he said.
“I seem to have the odd good meeting and then something seems to go against me, it’s all a bit frustrating to be honest.
“But I’m enjoying riding in the Premier League for Sheffield, my home town club, and hopefully we can all kick on and enjoy a good season.
“The team spirit is already excellent without the need for Go Karting or something like that, but it’s nice for us all to spend some time together away from the pits and the track!
“I know I can do better and that’s what I will be aiming to do over the next few weeks.”
