Changes threat for faltering Tigers

Peter Mole says the clock is ticking for Sheffield’s under-performing team to start winning meetings.

The Owlerton co-promoter is frustrated by the inconsistency throughout the team and there have been talks between the management about possibly making a change.

Tigers head to Scunthorpe tomorrow for a rearranged Premier League fixture but there is no meeting at Owlerton on Thursday as Sheffield face up to a fixture backlog in the second half of the Premier League season and need to remain unbeaten at home – and pick up some away points – if they’re to reach the play-offs.

“Damien Bates, Simon Parker and myself are not at all happy with our current league position,” said Mole.

“I’m confident things will improve but we cannot wait too long for that to happen.

“Speedway is driven by results, and being a numbers and averages game changes have to be made when needed.”

Tigers are represented by Simon Stead and Leigh Lanham in the Premier League Pairs Championship at Somerset on Friday.
