Tigers boss Joe Screen has called on his side to continue their strong run of form after an encouraging start to the season.
The Owlerton men made it two wins out of two in the League Cup as they battled to hard fought victory over Newcastle on Thursday.
And the new manager praised the performance of Aussie ace Taylor Poole after he bounced back from a disappointing start to the season to notch double figures, providing vital back-up to the ever impressive Simon Stead.
A jubilant Screen is hoping to see his side push on to enjoy a season to remember.
He said: “We knew from the start it was going to be difficult against Newcastle because they’ve got some good riders in their side, but the lads managed to pull it off in the end and it was a great result.
“Things didn’t always go our way and we had a few mechanical problems in the pits which didn’t help, but we came through in the end to get three points so we were all really happy.
“I’ve got to say that Taylor really impressed me. He’s coming back from injury this year and had a tough start but he showed us what he can do with a really good performance.
“Obviously Steady was leading from the front which sets a great example for the lads, and the whole team performance was good in the end.”
