JOSH Auty says he won’t lose any sleep over his failure to qualify for the Premier League Riders Championship (PLRC) next month.

Auty appears to have missed out by a fraction of a point for the showpiece event at Owlerton on Sunday, September 25.

In-form Shane Parker is Sheffield’s automatic qualifier by going top of the averages into September and Ricky Ashworth, a former winner, is set to join him as one of the highest scoring second placed riders in the league.

Auty said: “To be honest the PLRC would have been nice but I’m not losing any sleep over it because of all the problems I’ve had with injuries this season.

“I’m just pleased to be averaging around the eight-point mark and if it’s Shane and Ricky then fair enough, good luck to the lads.

“I’m just pleased to be back racing after breaking my ankle in June and then getting hurt on my comeback.”

Tigers are hoping to welcome Ashley Birks back into their side for tomorrow’s home Premier League clash with Ipswich.

And club owner Neil Machin is urging his riders to show more support for Parker after a disappointing display at Newcastle on Sunday.
