Andre's Tigers wait

ANDRE Compton has confirmed he will ride for one of only two clubs next season.

The former Sheffield skipper spent last season on loan to Workington after having a change of heart over retirement.

Now he could be on his way back to Owlerton - and if not, Workington are ready to take him back to Cumbria for the 2010 campaign.

He said: "Yes, I will be riding for either Sheffield or Workington next season. Right now, it's not down to a straight choice for me.

"I guess the protocol is that Sheffield have first shout on my services because they are my parent club and I would be happy to go back there. Nothing has changed the way I feel about riding for Sheffield.

"But I'd be equally happy to go back to Workington because they looked after me superbly and the fans there are brilliant.

"So it's not really down to me at this stage. Sheffield will make a decision in the near future as to which direction their team building is going and then we'll take things from there."
