It’s been a tough week again because I’ve basically just been laid up at home, but I did get out of the house on Sunday when me and my family went to Mablethorpe, writes Simon Stead.
I used to go there when I was a kid and I probably haven’t been for 15-20 years, so I have some really fond memories and it was great to go with my family, including my niece.
I don’t really like being pushed round in a wheelchair though, that isn’t something I want to get used to. It was good to get out of the house though and spend a bit of time with my family, but it definitely took it out of me and it took a few days to get any energy back!
On Thursday it was great to see Adam Roynon win the Top Gun Individual at Owlerton and that’ll do his confidence the world of good.
It was a meeting he probably should have won, but that just adds pressure sometimes.
I also want to say congratulations to Richard Hall, who won his first ever World Longtrack Grand Prix on Saturday night. That’s a brilliant result for Rich.
I have a hospital appointment on Friday, hopefully I’ll get a progress report, so fingers crossed, some good news to report.
