Laura Robson’s US Open run ended in the second round with a 6-2 6-3 defeat by 30th seed Anabel Medina Garrigues at Flushing Meadows. The 17-year-old had come through qualifying and beat Ayumi Morita in round one.
Sheffield’s Jonny Marray and his partner Jamie Delgado beat Matthias Bachinger and Philipp Kohlschreiber in three sets in the first round of the mens doubles.
