Snooker: Top 64 target for teen ace Walker

Sheffield cueman Joel Walker is aiming to break into the top 64 in the world this season.

The 19-year-old potter, who faces his one-time mentor Ronnie O’Sullivan in the in the qualifying rounds for the International Championship at Barnsley Metrodome today, is currently ranked 89th in the world.

“I’m trying to get into the top 64 and do as well as possible in the European Tour events,” said the youngster.

Walker’s clash with reigning world champion O’Sullivan cues off at 2.30pm and fellow Sheffielder Adam Duffy is also in action then and will take onMichael Wasley.
