Snooker: City duo primed to take part in Classic event

Have your say

Leading Sheffield potters Adam Duffy and Joel Walker are poised to compete in the Paul Hunter Classic in Germany later this week.

The pair, who practice at Hustlers Sports Bar, in Eckington, will hope to reach the latter stages of the European Tour event, having lost in the early rounds of the Bluebell Wood Open at the Doncaster Dome last week.

Both Duffy and Walker are in action on Friday in Fürth. Duffy takes on World No 58 Rod Lawler while Walker is set to lock horns with Jamie Burnett. If Duffy wins his opener, he could face Mark Selby, a three-time Masters winner, in the next round. All matches are best of seven frames.

Meanwhile, if you fancy a brilliant night of entertainment in Sheffield, book your tickets for an evening With Barry Hearn and Steve Davis on November 21. It’s a chance to hear stories and comedy from two of the biggest personalities in the sport while raising money for our official charity Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

The venue has yet to be confirmed. Tickets are priced at £35 and there is a limited VIP option at £55.
