WORLD snooker chairman Barry Hearn is leaving the door firmly open for Ronnie O’Sullivan to make a grand comeback next season.
New Betfred.com world champion O’Sullivan is taking a six-month sabbatical from snooker after winning his fourth Crucible crown in Sheffield.
But even though Hearn and O’Sullivan have made no secret of their differences over the way the sport is being run, Hearn knows how important the “Rocket” is to the green baize game’s success.
“I’m leaving the door open for Ronnie, he’s probably the greatest player to have picked up a cue,” said Hearn.
“I hope he goes and sees his doctor, takes a pill and makes the right decision.”
