DAVE Jones has welcomed the point earned at Birmingham last night - but he also believes that the Owls had victory in their grasp.
“If we’d have had a bit more luck or quality when we broke away, it was a game we should have won,” he said.
Jones also pinpointed a chance near the end when substitute Gary Madine headed wide. “Normally he would have stuck it in,” said the Wednesday boss.
Both teams had opportunites but the Owls also had some satisfaction in stretching their unbeaten league run to six games.
Boss Jones felt that his team coped with a backlash from Birmingham, who made five changes after losing 4-0 to Watford last Saturday.
“We had to make sure we matched that,” he added. “But with the positions we got into, we should have done a bit better.
Jones said that Anthony Gardner missed the game because of a thigh strain suffered in the previous match, against Derby.
