SHEFFIELD United manager Danny Wilson has insisted his players have the stomach for a League One promotion fight after watching them brave the elements yesterday.

Wilson’s squad returned to work ahead of this weekend’s game against Notts County despite the wintery conditions at their Shirecliffe training complex.

United head to Meadow Lane fourth in the table following their home defeat by Yeovil Town three days ago and the former Northern Ireland international said: “We were all disappointed by what happened but our focus now is responding in a positive fashion.”

Meanwhile, Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner has dismissed reports linking United with forward Jon Taylor.

“I had a chat with him a week ago and he’s happy with things,” Turner said. “He doesn’t want to move.

“If clubs had been interested I would think there would already have been some enquiries.”
