A resident has raised concerns about a key road on the Tour de France route which has not been resurfaced in full.
Rob Birkinshaw got in touch with Sheffield Council to say Kirk Edge Road in Bradfield was in its ‘original condition’ with deep ruts along the edges, numerous patches and the surface breaking up.
Elite cyclists will ride on the road on Sunday.
The council said the road was inspected as part of preparations work for the Tour and only ‘part’ of it needed to be resurfaced.
Coun Jack Scott added: “The route has been inspected by Tour de France officials and also inspectors from the Streets Ahead team and they are both satisfied the route is in the best condition to showcase Sheffield.”
