Vicky Brown, of the Sheffield/Wosskow Brown Stars, is the new world ladies cycle speedway champion.

She rode to a superb 20-point maximum, winning all five of her races, to take the title.

Vicky dominated the quality field of riders from the outset at the Ashmore Park circuit in Wednesfield, finishing the meeting three points ahead of silver medallist and fellow Brit Lauren Hookway.

The Stars’ Rebecca Davies finished in 11th place after scoring nine points.

Vicky now has three weeks to focus her attentions on the British title that has so far eluded her.
