Sheffield golden girl Jessica Ennis is confident London 2012 will deliver a lasting legacy as Britain’s glorious summer of sport finally drew to a close.
Yesterday’s Olympic and Paralympic Athletes’ parade marked the official end of an unforgettable six weeks in the country’s sporting history.
And heptathlon gold medalist Ennis said: “Sports-lovers were excited about the Olympics but I think there were a few people who weren’t sure how it would pan out, but it’s brought everyone together.
“It’s been the same across the whole country. I really do think this is going to create a lot of legacy.”
