Sheffield Wednesday begin their Championship season at newly relegated Queens Park Rangers on August 3, writes Dom Howson.

Under the leadership of Harry Redknapp, QPR finished bottom of the Premier League last term, recording just four wins from 38 matches.

QPR boast Jay Bothroyd in their ranks - the striker struggled to make an impact in a loan spell at Hillsborough last season, hitting just one goal in 14 outings.

After the trip to Loftus Road, the Owls welcome Burnley to Hillsborough followed by a Yorkshire derby at Leeds United.

Wednesday host Yeovil Town, who have never played before in the second-tier of English football, and League One champions Doncaster Rovers in September.

On Boxing Day, Dave Jones men travel to Blackburn Rovers. Three days later, Wednesday visit Charlton Athletic before they then host Blackpool on New Year’s Day.

The South Yorkshire club will end their campaign at Ipswich Town on May 3.
