Wackett to them, Titans

With Rotherham's first team squad training tonight, coach Craig West is delaying the naming of his starting line-up to take on London Welsh, who include ex-home favourite Errie Claassens, at Clifton Lane tomorrow.

Both sides have lost two games in the Championship but, backed by a crowd of more than 1,000, Rotherham should win at Clifton Lane. However, as there is little to choose between the sides, nothing should be taken for granted.

Of West's pre-season signings, one player who has stood out is the team's new No 8 Sam Dickinson.

The powerfully built forward, recruited from North West club, Caldy RUFC, not only takes the ball on in attack, but his tackling has impressed, too.

Dickinson's work rate in both attack and defence has shone, and considering he's been playing league rugby well below the level of the Championship, he has adapted well.

The encouraging signs provided by Dickinson can also be seen in the form of new centre or wing Andrew Henderson, who was signed from Newbury.

Rothrham have been served well by winger Peter Wackett, on loan from Leeds Carnegie. His pace and ability to strike when an opening is clear have led to tries against Coventry and Plymouth.

Rotherham (from): Hunt, Wackett, Henderson, Buckley, Farmer, West, Chivers, Kilbane, Batty, Prescott, Hayter, Craig, Barnes, Du Plessis, Dickinson, Skurr, O'Donnell, Challinor, Rhodes, Quigley, Kleeberger, Allen.
