SHEFFIELD Tigers were proud in defeat last weekend.
They declared that they had “gone down with all guns blazing” in the 27-26 National League 2 North defeat at Preston Grasshoppers.
Seventy-placed Tigers outscored the home side by four tries to three - and narrowly failed to win it in the last six minutes - returning across the Pennines with two points.
Bonuses other than a strong second half comeback were that number eight Nick Pearson returned after three months out with injury and illness. Neil Patrick also made his debut in the second-row.
Now the focus is on getting a victory, their next match is Saturday, another road trip, to Bromsgrove.
Sheffield RUFC pulled off a significant 17-13 victory at Wheatley Hills. They are now one place and two points behind Wheatley in North 1 East. Sheffield travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday.
