A second half fight-back by Rotherham produced a dramatic draw at Meadow Lane last night in a remarkable Championship clash which delivered two league points for the Titans after they were losing by 20-9 at half time.
Two high class tries by Irish winger Shane Monahan and one from Tongan number eight Semisi Taulava shocked Nottingham who had been leading comfortably.
Rotherham’s recovery showed the depth of their determination after a poor first half, but they bounced back in style, with Garry Law converting the Titans’ three tries to finish with 15 points on the night.
Rotherham struggled to cope with the pace of the Nottingham backs before the break as the Meadow Lane side scored two tries by centre Ayoola Erinle and full back David Jackson.
Rotherham trailed by 20 -9 at the half way stage after suffering serious injuries to two of their most influential forwards.
Prop Rob O’Donnell left the field with a head injury on 30 minutes and then two minutes later, Rotherham were hit by another blow when second row Neale Patrick had to be taken off by stretcher with a bad neck injury which held up play for several minutes while he received medical treatment on the pitch.
