Titans land Scottish ace Swindall
Rotherham Titans, who report back for pre-season training on Saturday, have announced another new signing.
Coach Craig West has strengthened the pack by the recruitment of 26-year-old Scotland A back row forward Steve Swindall from Glasgow.
The Scot was recommended to Rotherham by their former prop Stuart Corsar, now at Doncaster Knights, who played with Swindall at Glasgow Warriors.
West is also delighted to have re-signed No 8 Jon Skurr, who was one of the best forwards in the pack last season.
West is still hoping that Kevin Maggs, the former Ireland, Bath and Bristol centre, whose performances helped Titans avoid relegation, can be persuaded to come back to Clifton Lane as a player and backs' coach.
However, Maggs, who lives in Bristol, may not wish to return because his daughter is suffering from a serious illness.
Titans have confirmed a new partnership with Premiership club Leeds.
The Clifton Lane club will be loaned young players from Headingley and talented youngsters from Titans offered the opportunity to train and experience a full-time environment with Leeds.
Leeds prospects James Craig, Luther Burrell and Phil Swainston will join Titans next season whilst Rotherham's Ryan Burrows is to train with Leeds.
