Titans bid to make it a double in clash of kickers
The result of Rotherham Titans' important Championship clash at Plymouth on Saturday could well be decided by two of the league's most accurate goal kickers.
With both teams in the relegation play-off zone, that is the bottom four, it's essential that the few scoring opportunities that come along are accepted.
So the outcome at Brickfields could be decided by fly halves Jonny West and Kieran Hallett, third and fifth in the Championship points' table.
West has scored 107 points in league games, 19 of them against Plymouth at Clifton Lane in September when Roth won 29-16.
Albion's fly half, Hallett has compiled 82 points, made up of two tries, nine conversions, 16 penalties and two drop goals.
The two sides are evenly matched and have identical league records.
Rotherham, ninth in the Championship, are just ahead on points' difference. Like Plymouth they have won four out of their 11 games, so a close match can be predicted.
After their poor performance at Ayr in the British and Irish Cup, Rotherham will be expected to deliver a decent performance and while the Titans' record away from home is not encouraging, their forwards do have the potential to produce a match winning effort as was seen against Doncaster.
However, Albion at home in front of a crowd of more than 3,000 are formidable opposition.
Plymouth's pack is well known for being able to defend solidly; indeed Albion have conceded fewer tries - 29 - than Rotherham's 34.
As an attacking unit, Plymouth are in better form, scoring 22 tries whereas the Titans have crossed their opponents' line only 17 times.
The return of flanker Tinus du Plessis will boost the confidence of the side and the Namibian forward himself is also in top form having scored one of the tries which ensured that his country qualified for the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand by beating Tunisia over two legs with an aggregate score of 40-23.
