Sunday may be Titans chance

.

.

The freezing weather has again forced the postponement of the Rotherham Titans’ game against Cornish Pirates at Clifton Lane tomorrow, but the match may go ahead a day later on Sunday if it passes a pitch inspection.

The pitch remains rock solid and is unsafe to play, but the surface at Clifton Lane will be inspected tomorrow at 11.30am by a referee from Doncaster, and if the pitch has thawed and he decides it is safe, then the game will take place on Sunday, 2pm.

Rotherham have been in constant touch with their counterparts at Cornish Pirates who will travel at lunchtime tomorrow if the game is switched.

Rotherham fly half Garry Law, the Championship’s top points’ scorer, has recovered from a virus and starts if the game is played.

The other boost for the Titans is that number eight Semisi Taulava, is back as is lock forward Neale Patrick who is scheduled to play his first game at Clifton Lane since being seriously hurt against Bedford towards the end of September.

Rotherham, who have dropped to sixth in the Championship following their defeat at Bristol a fortnight ago, have lost only once in the league at Clifton Lane and are confident of gaining revenge for their loss by 30-13 at Pirates in November.
