Sheffield Tigers survived dire conditions at Dore Moor to collect another bonus point as they resumed their National Three North campaign with a 26-0 victory over Cleckheaton.

Tigers Tigers survived dire conditions at Dore Moor to collect another bonus point as they resumed their National Three North campaign with a 26-0 victory over Cleckheaton.

Tigers ran in three first-half tries and, as the light faded, they clinched the four-try bonus when they were awarded a penalty try in the 38th minute of the second half.

Prop Will Bennett crashed over for the opening try midway through the first half, Mark Ireland converting, and Ireland was also on target when winger Henri Packard scored 15 minutes later.

In the dying seconds of the first half, centre Rupert Broadley sprinted over for another try. Ireland missed the conversion, but he slotted the ball over when the ref gave Tigers a penalty try.

There was no change at the top as Tigers, Wirral and Waterloo all scored bonus point wins, and Sheffield still hold fourth place despite the Abbeydale Park side’s match at Lymm being postponed because of waterlogging.
