JAMIE Broadley starred as Sheffield Tigers sealed their fifth win in a row in National Two North, thumping Huddersfield 58-30 at Dore Moor.

The centre bagged a hat-trick of tries either side of half-time to help the hosts move into sixth position.

Tigers, who travel to Stockport on Saturday, led 20-13 at the interval thanks largely to Broadley’s magic. They ensured a five-point success through further tries from Pete Swatkins, Russ White, flanker Frank Wragg and full-back Ed Stiles.

Fresh from beating Keighley 23-14 in North East One, Sheffield face Wheatley Hills in a top-of-the-table clash this Saturday. Hills cruised to a comfortable 36-12 home victory over Middlesbrough, with centre Ben Miller (2), winger Chris Blessed and No 8 Gareth Burns all crossing before Rob Bellerby reduced the deficit for the visitors late on.

In Yorkshire Division One, Barnsley were well beaten by table-topping Huddersfield YMCA, who maintained their 100 per cent record. Gavin Stead’s trebled guided YMCA to a 39-16 win.

Sheffield Medicals put a brave fight before going down 28-26 to league leaders Selby in Yorkshire Division Two. It was a bad weekend for Doncaster Phoenix as well as they lost to Bradford Salem.
