SHEFFIELD Tigers hope to celebrate their 10th straight victory this coming weekend.

Last Saturday, they recorded a six point victory over Caldy at Dore Moor.

The game was a close one until Tigers really moved up a gear in the last 20 minutes and strengthened their position in fourth place in the National 2 North division. Tigers said they were pleased with the crowd support in the 25-19 victory. On Saturday Tigers travel to Otley with a 2:15pm kick-off.

Their website says: “This was a marvellous ninth win on the trot and only the heavy 58-30 victory over Huddersfield has been by more than just six points. On Saturday, the tough run of fixtures continues with a difficult trip to Otley, then it is the visit of leaders Stourbridge to Tigers. With four try bonus point wins in every match so far it is well worth putting the date of November 17 in your diary for a visit to Dore Moor.”

Sheffield enjoyed a 42-8 win over Morpeth and described it as a “convincing win.”

They are in third place North One East League behind leaders Wheatley Hills and Beverley.

Sheffield are slated to play at Pocklington in their next League game, on November 17.

The York side were hammered 28-7 by Wheatley Hills last Saturday.

In Yorkshire 5, Stocksbridge are celebrating their fifth straight victory.

They are second in the table, behind Doncaster Amateurs.
