Rotherham Titans have today confirmed that hooker Tom Cruse will leave at the end of the season to join Aviva Premiership side London Irish.

Cruse, 26, joined the Titans ahead of the 2013/14 season and has been a mainstay of the Titans front row over the last two years.

Cruse has scored 15 tries in his 49 appearances and is expected to reach the milestone of 50 caps against local rivals Doncaster Knights on Saturday.

Titans head coach Lee Blackett said, “Tom has worked extremely hard and he massively deserves this opportunity. Over the last two years he’s proved to be one of the best hookers in the division, if not the best.

“We’ve known that Premiership clubs have wanted him as we’ve had a number of enquires about him throughout the year. We’re massively happy for him because he deserves this opportunity, but saddened that he’ll be leaving us at the end of the season.”

Cruse said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Rotherham and am grateful for the opportunities they have given me. The chance to sign for London Irish and play in the Aviva Premiership is something I have worked hard to achieve.

“There is a lot of excitement around London Irish at the moment and I’m looking forward to getting started when I join in the summer.

“Until then my sole focus is on leaving Rotherham Titans on a high.”
