ROTHERHAM Titans’ coach, Andre Bester, who has signed 15 new players for next season, is expected to recruit another six in the next three weeks.
Bester has brought eight new forwards to Clifton Lane and seven fresh backs for the Championship season which starts at London Scottish on September 1.
Titans have a tough start to their league campaign with three consecutive away games against London Scottish, Bedford and Nottingham.
Rotherham’s first Championship home match is not until Round 4 when Jersey, newly promoted, visit.
Although the new Championship fixtures are subject to confirmation, the first derby against Doncaster will be played at Clifton Lane on Saturday November 3. The return game is in March.
Meanwhile, Rotherham’s squad will report back for pre-season training in the first week of July, and then in August Bester has arranged five friendlies against Hull Ionians, Hull RUFC, Macclesfield and then tougher games against Premiership opposition, Worcester Warriors and Saracens.
Bester is particularly pleased with one of his latest signings, winger Will Hurrell who played for Leicester Tigers in the Premiership.
