Rotherham Titans coach Andre Bester has warned his players of the scale of the challenge they face in tonight’s pre-season clash at Premiership club Worcester Warriors (7.30).
The game at Worcester is the Titans’ fourth friendly before the Championship season opens at London Scottish a week on Sunday.
The Titans, so far, are unbeaten having won at Hull Ionians, Sheffield Tigers and Macclesfield.
Bester has made four changes to the team which played at Macclesfield last week, and has included nine new signings in the starting line-up at Sixways.
“We know that we have a difficult challenge ahead and we expect a ferocious tempo and great physicality from Worcester and that is exactly what we want,” says Bester.
“We are content where we are now, both with our conditioning and application. Rotherham are a million miles ahead of where we were at this stage last season, but we need to be more clinical when opportunities present themselves,” Bester added.
Rotherham’s three quarters, Ed Styles, Eamonn Sheridan, Lee Blackett, Palepoi Nonu, Peter Homan, Garry Law and Charlie Mulchrone, will enjoy playing on the wide pitch at Sixways where they may well face ex-Titan Errie Claassens.
