Rotherham Titans’ coach, Andre Bester, has stepped up his recruitment of new players for next season and expects to have signed more than 20 by the time the squad reports back in mid-summer.
With so many of the current pack moving on to professional clubs at a higher level, his priority has been to sign at least six new forwards.
Rotherham have announced that one of the Championship’s most promising forwards, flanker Carl Kirwan,has signed a new deal for next season and will be staying at Clifton Lane.
“Carl has huge potential and is capable of achieving great things in the game and could go all the way to the top,” explains Bester.
Kirwan,who scored two tries on his debut against Moseley this season, has made 16 appearances for the Titans so far and will be in the squad for next Saturday’s play-off clash against Leeds Carnegie at Clifton Lane.
