THE future of Rotherham Titans coach, Andre Bester, remains uncertain after a crisis meeting lasting five hours at Clifton Lane yesterday did not reach a firm conclusion.
More discussions involving the coach and the club’s directors are set to take place tomorrow. In what’s understood to have been a tense disciplinary hearing, both sides in the controversy put their points of view on a number of issues where Bester and the club’s senior officials have clashed.
These major differences will be thrashed out again tomorrow and one outcome of the disciplinary hearing is that Bester may leave Rotherham Titans during the third season of his latest spell at the Clifton Lane club.
The latest controversy surrounding Bester and the directors will delight Rotherham’s rivals in the Championship where he is regarded as one of the best coaches at the level below the Premiership.
The current instability will please no club more than the Titans’ opponents at Clifton Lane on Saturday...Doncaster Knights.
Bester is still in charge of the players and until his position becomes clear, he will continue to take the training sessions. Under Bester so far this season, Rotherham have produced satisfactory results in both the Championship and the British and Irish Cup.
Going into the weekend derby, Rotherham’s record reads three wins, three defeats and one draw. They currently sit in sixth place in the Championship.
Titans objective is a top-four finish.
