Nottingham 46 Rotherham Titans 0

Rotherham's players let themselves down and their coaching staff, to whom they should apologise, after a mediocre and weak performance at Meadow Lane last night.

Rotherham's worst display of the Championship season so far resulted in their fourth defeat in six league games, and any repeat against Bedford and Exeter during the next fortnight will indicate that the Titans will plunge into deep trouble.

Nottingham, fast, fluent and rapid on the counter attack, overwhelmed Roth in the first half, scoring four tries on 13,21,34 and 36 minutes.

The Titans did show a slight improvement in the second half, but their defence still let in another three tries; having conceded seven tries overall, questions must be asked as to why the marking was so poor and why Nottingham were able to cross the line so easily.

However, in winger Peter Swatkins, playing his first league game having recovered from injury, the Titans possess a probable match winner, so that at least was encouraging.

Nottingham - tries: Jackson 2, Taylor, Johnston, Sherriff, White , Green; conversions: Tonks 3, Taylor; penalty: Tonks.

Rotherham Titans: Whitehead, Swatkins, Allen, Henderson, Farmer, West, Chivers, Quigley, Conroy, Prescott, Challinor, Dickinson,

Burrows, Du Plessis, Swindall. Reps:Kilbane, Hayter, Voisey, O'Donnell, Jenkins, Feeley, Rhodes.
