Knights and Titans in cup group
DONCASTER Knights and Rotherham Titans have been drawn together in the same group in the new British and Irish Cup.
It was always likely the National One rivals would figure in the same group as organisers planned to regionalise some of the groups.
Either or both may well face a trip Wales as Cardiff and Pontypridd are in the same six team group whilst Scottish club Ayr are also in it. The other club is Birmingham & Solihull.
The draw is to be made at a later date and matches will be over five weekends early next year with clubs playing two home and two away.
The semi finals are on April 24 and the final on May 15.
Doncaster and Rotherham are among 12 teams from the newly-formed English Championship along with six from the Welsh Principality Premiership, Irish provinces Munster, Leinster and Ulster and three Scottish sides.
POOL A: Exeter Chiefs, Leinster, Cornish Pirates, Newport, Plymouth Albion, The Thistles
POOL B: Coventry, Bristol Rugby, Heriot's, Munster, Neath, Nottingham
POOL C: Aberavon, Bedford Blues, Llanelli, London Welsh, Moseley, Ulster
POOL D: Ayr, Birmingham & Solihull, Cardiff, Doncaster Knights, Pontypridd, Rotherham Titans.
