James bid to Hook place
JAMES Hook wants to give British and Irish Lions boss Ian McGeechan a selection headache today.
Hook lines up at fly-half for the Lions' third tour game - a Vodacom Park appointment with Super 14 strugglers the Cheetahs.
And Hook, an addition to the tour squad when his Wales colleague Leigh Halfpenny temporarily remained in Cardiff for treatment on a thigh injury, has no intention of being a support act.
Ronan O'Gara and Stephen Jones have already featured as the starting number 10, and now it is Ospreys star Hook's chance - two weeks before the first Test against world champions South Africa.
"There is no point coming here and sitting back," said Hook. "I've got a great chance to give it my best.
"There are big boots to fill with Ronan and Stephen having had good starts."
