Two of Rotherham’s most experienced forwards, each with an extensive Premiership background, have recovered from injury and are back in the side for tonight’s quarter-final at Bristol in the British and Irish Cup (7.45 pm).
Second row Ed Williamson and number eight Alfie To’oala strengthen the Titans pack which competes at the Memorial Stadium without one of Rotherham’s top forwards, lock Dan Sanderson, who has been banned for five weeks following a punching incident at Bedford last Saturday.
As a result of injuries and players being cup-tied, coach Lee Blackett goes into tonight’s game without 13 players, but as he says: “This is still a great occasion for the club because it is the first time we have qualified for the quarter- finals. This is a great opportunity for several players who have the chance to impress in such an important match.”
Rotherham Titans: Scanlon, Broadley, Gill, Roberts, Wilson, Socino, White, Gadd, Cruse, Tampin, Williamson, Thomas-Brown, Reider, Birch, To’oalo. Replacements: Quigley, Williams, Stout,Preece, Keating, Mulchrone, Hayes.
