DONCASTER Knights’ forward Tom Davies has agreed a contract extension with the Championship outfit.
The Doncaster-born front-row forward returned to Castle Park last summer after a year in the Welsh capital with Cardiff Blues and firmly established himself as a starting Championship player.
The 26-year-old made 22 appearances during the 2011-12 campaign, and director of rugby Brett Davey, who has also recently re-signed skipper Chris Hallam, vice-captain Matt Challoner, Tom Luke and Michael Keating, says he is pleased to retain Davies’ services.
“Tom is widely regarded as one of the best loose-heads in the league and I am delighted he has chosen to stay with us, but it is important he has healthy competition for the jersey,” he said.
“He has become a senior player within the squad and as with many of the players’ we have re-signed he has a certain personality about him that suits the Doncaster style and he has a bright future at the club.”
