DONCASTER Knights director of rugby Brett Davey is thrilled to have re-signed Christopher Planchant.
The tough tackling number eight took a break from Championship rugby after a knee injury cut short his season in 2009/10.
After recovering from knee surgery, Planchant was snapped up by Pontefract RUFC. He has caught the eye at the North One East Club, prompting Davey to bring the player back to Castle Park yesterday.
Davey said: “I am absolutely delighted that Chris has returned to Championship level rugby. He is a fantastic footballer, a tough competitor, a true warrior on the pitch and an absolute gentleman off it.”
He added: “I also wanted to say a heartfelt thanks to Pontefract Rugby Club for all they have done for Chris, it is these links within rugby that make us stronger.”
Davey strengthened his half back cover earlier this week by signing goal-kicking scrum-half Lee Audis.
