Simey shines for Moorland

MOORLAND Open beat lowly Parklands by six wickets to retain top spot in Division Three of the Doncaster & District Infirmary Evening Cricket League.

Simey (65) and Culshaw (30 not out) led the Moorlands reply of 125-4. Gavin Meadows (28) and Matt Turner (27 not out) had earlier shared the Parklands batting honours in their 122-5. Childs took 3-21.

Hatfield Main continue to head the chasing group after beating Bentley Colliery by 58 runs. Andrew Moores (47) and Will Mora (46) provided the bulk of the Main knock of 141-5. Bentley, for whom Nicky Smith took 3-35, were all out for 83 in reply.

Only Michael King (17) and Andy Townsend (17) made much impression on the Main attack well led by Andrew Stuart (3-7) and Ryan Hatton (3-24).

Marr remain bottom following their 71-run defeat at home to Adwick-le-Street. Carl New bold starred for Adwick in their 185-8 with a knock of 74. Tony Rigby took 3-34.

Marr, for whom Dave Foster (27) and Sahil Khan (21) shared the batting honours, never challenged Adwick's total and were 114-7 at the close.
