It doesn’t look as if Sheffield Eagles will be getting many ‘welcome to your new home’ cards from the opposition.

The spartan changing facilities for visiting teams in two Portakabins at Owlerton Stadium were given the cold shoulder by Dewsbury.

The Rams arrived, changed into their playing kit and left immediately after the game in an apparent protest. Rams coach Glenn Morrison put his players straight back on the team coach without a shower or an after match meal.

Eagles boss Mark Aston said: “It’s their call; I wouldn’t let my players leave after a game without a meal.”

Dewsbury lost 46-10 as the Eagles claimed their first league win back at Owlerton.

Eagles winger Misi Taulapapa’s two tries in the Dewsbury game, meanwhile, earned him a place in the Kingstone Press Championship team of the week. Doncaster’s full-back Dave Scott is named player of the round and winger Nev Morrison is also in the line up.
